What is personal counselling?

Personal counselling is similar to psychotherapy. It’s a joint process between you and me. We aim to help you have a better life or inspire you to change. However, it’s usually shorter term, allowing you to get on with your life and feel better.

Because you are not wanting to explore the deeper roots of your issues, personal counselling is shorter and less expensive than psychotherapy. But its impact on you and your personal happiness can be just as great.

What will I get from Counselling?

Do you want to learn new skills to handle tough situations? Would you like to do so with a greater sense of self-worth, insight and compassion towards other people?

Do I have to wait until I feel very distressed before coming?

It’s a good time to seek counselling when you first feel everyday issues are causing you emotional pain. This can mean you think, feel and behave in negative ways. Often this is accompanied by tiredness, pain, anxiety or depression.

You don’t need to wait until you are in severe distress before you come for counselling. Coming early, means you can develop tools and coping mechanisms to alleviate your symptoms and feel less overwhelmed and hopeless.

Will Counselling help me feel more self-aware?

Sometimes we continue making unhealthy decisions and lose sight of our goals. As your self-awareness grows in counselling, you can enjoy feeling more empowered and satisfied with your life.

How do I set up an appointment?

Get in touch by phone, text or email. I will get back to you as soon as I can so I can answer your questions and find out more about what you need. We can then set up an assessment session.

I offer face to face, phone or Skype counselling. I can also offer home visits, for nearby clients who have mobility difficulties. I charge a £15 supplement for this service.
